June 2014 Camp

June 20-21, 2014

Our June 20th-21st 2014 Basketball Camp was a success! Wow - we couldn't have asked for more. God is good! We know that our loved one, Michael, is smiling down on us for our efforts.

We would like to give thanks to our Heavenly Father, the participants and their parents/guardians, and all the coaches and volunteers that played a part in helping make the very first camp a success. A special thanks goes to our hosting site, Bronzeville Lighthouse Charter School (off 41st & State St., Chicago, IL), and to Subway, Sports Authority, 4imprint and Home Depot for various donations.

In all we had 30 participants (including 3 girls) and each one brought excitement and enthusiasm both days of the camp. It was a real delight to see the children so excited and ready to participate in the various drills and games. The kids didn't want it to end, and we didn't want it to end. It really was a great event. We look forward to our next camp. Be sure to check back for details.

We are a not-for-profit organization, and the camp is completely free to the participants. We aim to keep it that way because Michael enjoyed playing the game and coaching kids. Our goal is to carry on Michael's legacy by doing the same. We would like to be able to hold at least two separate camps (multiple days each) each year and hope to grow. Donations are always welcome to help in our efforts. Thank you.

We hope to see you at the next fundraising event and the next camp.
